Dorian Reid (b. 1957, Berkeley, CA) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in the Bay-Area. Reid’s practice extends across media including tapestry, drawing, painting, and ceramic, often imagining playful scenes of flora and fauna underlined with an activist air. Reid works out of Richmond, California’s NIAD Art Center (Nurturing Independence through Artistic Development). Recent exhibitions include Into the Brightness: Artists from Creativity Explored, Creative Growth & NIAD, Oakland Museum of California, Oakland, CA; NIAD x Christie’s, Future History: The Katz Legacy, Christie’s, San Francisco, CA; and Never look Down On Anybody Unless You’re Helping Him Up, Kapp Kapp, Philadelphia.
